Effective October 11, 2026. This policy covers the True Unitarian Discord bot, application ID 1559013186433196173, operated by Integrity Syndicate. It is separate from the website's existing privacy policy. For privacy questions or requests, email support@integritysyndicate.com.
What the bot processes
When you invoke a bot command, the bot receives the command text and options, Discord user, server, channel and interaction identifiers, and temporary credentials needed to reply to that interaction. It processes your active conversation, the bot's replies, selected debate settings and claims, and relevant reviewed sources to answer your request. It does not read ordinary channel messages, fetch channel history, or access your private website conversations.
Do not submit secrets or sensitive personal information about yourself or others. The bot is intended to discuss texts and arguments, not to collect personal religious profiles. Configuration identifiers used to restrict approved servers, channels and participants remain until the operator removes or changes that access.
AI processing and third parties
To generate a live answer, we send the question, permitted active-session conversation, debate context, relevant source excerpts and the agent's instructions to Anthropic's API. We use a generic participant label in model requests rather than sending your Discord account identifier as a speaker label. Personal details that you type into a question may nevertheless be included. We do not upload the whole knowledge collection or create a provider-hosted conversation archive.
Our use of the Anthropic API is for inference with model-training/data-sharing opt-ins disabled. Anthropic may retain or process API data under its own applicable terms, security practices and legal obligations; application-side deletion does not guarantee immediate deletion by Anthropic. See Anthropic's API data-retention information and Privacy Policy.
Discord independently processes bot interactions under the Discord Privacy Policy. Ephemeral replies limit visibility in the Discord interface; they are not a guarantee that Discord keeps no internal copies. We do not sell bot interaction data or share it with advertising networks or data brokers.
Retention and clearing context
The initial bot keeps conversation context in application memory only. It does not write messages, prompts, replies or transcripts to a bot database, transcript file, content log, backup or training archive. Context is discarded when you use /si end, after 5 minutes of inactivity, at the 10-minute maximum session lifetime, or when the bot shuts down or disconnects. Ended conversations cannot be resumed from a saved bot history.
The bot attempts to delete its active-session ephemeral replies when a session ends. Deletion may fail when Discord is unavailable or an interaction credential has expired. Clearing bot memory does not erase other participants' copies, screenshots, platform records or provider records. Fixed operational status messages and in-memory usage limits do not include dialogue content. These are application practices, not a promise of secure erasure from operating-system memory or third-party infrastructure.
No session voice recordings are retained. The initial bot has no voice feature. A later voice feature would require an updated notice before use.
Quality review, editorial improvement and model training
Saving a transcript, reviewing it and training an AI model are different activities. We do not use Discord API message content to train or fine-tune models. Discord requires its express permission for that use; a user notice alone does not authorize it.
We may use aggregated or effectively de-identified feedback to identify broad knowledge gaps and improve independently sourced articles. Such feedback must not be associated with an individual or preserve a distinctive exchange. We do not maintain a raw Discord conversation archive for this purpose. The initial bot does not automatically save improvement notes or create a training dataset. Any later process would need to follow Discord's rules and this policy; a materially different retention practice would be disclosed before activation.
Your choices and requests
You can choose not to invoke the bot, end a session using /si end, ask the operator to remove you from its access list, or contact support@integritysyndicate.com to request access, correction or deletion of information we hold about you, or report a privacy or security issue. We may need limited information to verify the request. Do not include passwords or tokens. Once temporary conversation context is discarded, we cannot retrieve that bot transcript.
Support correspondence you send by email is handled separately from temporary bot context. We use it to respond to your request, address issues and meet applicable obligations, retaining it only as needed for those purposes. Your rights may include additional access, deletion, objection or complaint rights under the laws that apply to you. Requests concerning records controlled independently by Discord or Anthropic may also need to be addressed to those providers.
Age requirements
The service is not directed to children below Discord's minimum age or any higher applicable legal minimum. If you believe a child below that age has provided personal information through the bot, contact us so we can address it.
Policy changes
We will update this page and its effective date when practices change and provide any additional notice required by applicable law. This policy describes the Discord bot; a website-session improvement switch does not provide consent for Discord processing. Read the bot Terms of Service for usage terms.
